Standaard Incoming House intelligence chief botches easy intel quiz

If the head democratic party's intelligence guru flunks the basics, is
it surprising that the American public really does not realize their
own vulnerabilty by electing these neophytes to office?

Incoming House intelligence chief botches easy intel quiz WASHINGTON
(CNN) -- Rep. Silvestre Reyes of Texas, who incoming House Speaker
Nancy Pelosi has tapped to head the Intelligence Committee when the
Democrats take over in January, failed a quiz of basic questions about
al Qaeda and Hezbollah, two of the key terrorist organizations the
intelligence community has focused on since the September 11, 2001
attacks. When asked by CQ National Security Editor Jeff Stein whether
al Qaeda is one or the other of the two major branches of Islam --
Sunni or Shiite -- Reyes answered "they are probably both,"...

CNN conveniently left out this part of the exchange according to
Stein's web page

And Hezbollah? I asked him. What are they?

"Hezbollah. Uh, Hezbollah..."

He laughed again, shifting in his seat.

"Why do you ask me these questions at five o'clock? Can I answer in
Spanish? Do you speak Spanish?"

"Poquito," I said-a little.

"Poquito?! " He laughed again.

"Go ahead," I said, talk to me about Sunnis and Shia in Spanish.

Reyes: "Well, I, uh...."

I apologized for putting him "on the spot a little." But I reminded
him that the people who have killed thousands of Americans on U.S. soil
and in the Middle East have been front page news for a long time now.

"Stop giving me tests!" Reyes exclaimed, half kidding.

"I'm not going to talk to you any more!"

The only enemies liberals can perceive to Americans are Wal-Mart, Big
Oil, Pro-lifers, the NRA, and George Bush.

LMAO!

How could they possibly do any worse than to piss a trillion dollars of
the national treasure into an ungrateful desert shit hole. You
republicans really are the most unbelievable ****tards.
This republican govt is the most wasteful since the last republican
government.
bring back Clinton for god sake.

And *you* conveniently left out THIS part:

*******************************
For example, he knows that the 1,400- year-old split in Islam between
Sunnis and Shiites not only fuels the militias and death squads in
Iraq, it drives the competition for supremacy across the Middle East
between Shiite Iran and Sunni Saudi Arabia.

That’s more than two key Republicans on the Intelligence Committee
knew when I interviewed them last summer. Rep. Jo Ann Davis, R-Va.,
and Terry Everett, R-Ala., both back for another term, were flummoxed
by such basic questions, as were several top counterterrorism
officials at the FBI.
******************************

I agree with you that it is not a good thing that the incoming
Democrat House intel chief doesn't know these things better, but the
Republicans didn't knwo them AT ALL. Especially George Bush and his
cronies.

I saw this interview on Al jazeera , AMAZING , and this bloke got the
top job

It will go down in muslim military history as proof the west is doomed
.. I know the average westerner knows nothing about the muslim world

And what the average person does know they learned from jewish anti
muslim propaganda

BUT if the western leaders dont even know grade one muslim history ,
its no wonder they lost the war in IRAQ and AFGHANISTAN

Even i can now see why they failed

They really do have no ****ing idea at all , they deserve to lose wars
if they are prepared to have leaders who are ignorant fools , its best
they be removed from the planet ASAP
